COMPOSITING

I'm still learning composting and testing my skills in NUKE, but I would love to share some of my projects so far with you!

PROJECTS

ANIMATED POSTER

  • Shoot a plate of a non-digitalscreen, and then create an animated poster that must start static and "come to life" in a creative way. Examples of non-digital screens include, but are not limited too, posters, book covers, paper bags, photos, paintings, stickers, etc.

  • Learn how to do basic tracking in Nuke, shoot plate footage, and fabricate assets for compositing.

  • Menu Mayhem

In a cozy restaurant, a specials menu on the table comes to life with animated food characters lounging about. Suddenly, real food is placed on the table, and the menu characters stare in horror at their counterparts.

    • AMERICAN ADVERTISING AWARDS (ADDYS) - LOCAL AAF SUNCOAST

      • SILVER - Out-of-Home & Ambient Media Poster

      • SILVER - Single + Elements of Advertising Animation or Special Effects

BREAKING THE FRAME

  • Shoot a composition with a digital screen as the subject. The digital screen must be displaying an absolute green image, and it is recommended that the camera is static on a tripod, so we can add post-camera shake/drift. After the shoot, create an animation that starts inside the digital screen and breaks the frame of the digital screen in a creative way. Both elements will be seamlessly composited together.

  • Learn the basic keying techniques in Nuke, shooting plate footage, and fabricating assets for compositing.

  • Pop Goes the Pumpkin

A pumpkin with a glowing face captivates the screen, gradually coming to life. With creative animation and compositing, candy falls in and out of the screen for the pumpkin to eat. After eating too many sweets, the pumpkin vomits that fly out towards the camera, adding an interactive element to the spooky spectacle.

KEYING FOR HUMANS

  • Create a green screen composite with the following theme and requirements:

    Target Branded Commercial

Requirements: A 5-30 Second Scene, branded in the style of any existing Target Commercial. Spot MUST include Target Bullseye Logo

  • Learn intermediate keying of a human subject in Nuke, shoot plate footage, understand the various on-set roles, and fabricate assets for compositing.

  • Festive Frenzy

Staying warm inside, friends gather to have a winter movie night while showcasing Target’s holiday products, such as: clothes, plushies, food, decor, scents, and movies.

    • AMERICAN ADVERTISING AWARDS (ADDYS) - LOCAL AAF SUNCOAST

      • SILVER - Film, Video, Sound, Television Advertising

      • SILVER -Single + Online/Interactive Social Media - Single Execution

    • BEST OF RINGLING

      • VFX Award - 2024

OBJECT OUT OF PLACE

Showcased in Ringling College’s LIGATURE SHOW XIV: DIMENSIONS

  • Create a composite that involves tracking a 3D object into a live action plate while adhering to the following creative direction:

Typography: Create a stylized render using typography skills. This direction cannot be "photorealistic" but must have accurate lighting and compositing.

  • Learn basic camera tracking techniques in Nuke, shooting plate footage, fabricating assets for compositing, and the process of common CG integration with live action plates using basic AOVs and Redshift Rendering.

  • Okie Dokie Artichokie

Why did I choose this for my type? Well, if you ask anyone, they will tell you I say a lot of weird phrases — Okie Dokie Artichokie being one of them. I though it would be a fun way to express myself.
